Responsibilities

Country marketing strategy

  • Support the execution of the marketing strategy and plans for Armenia ensuring alignment to the South Caucasus cluster, regional and global marketing strategy.
  • Support the development and execution of campaign strategies, both traditional and online, to support a variety of routes to market and maximise impact and share of voice.
  • Ensures that clear and consistent marketing processes are followed in the country
  • Monitor and report on agreed marketing KPIs for the country as agreed with the South Caucasus Marketing Manager.
  • Support the country team with Results and Evidence Framework (audience planning, re-planning and reporting). Ensure the programme team receive necessary support to effectively record audience numbers in system. In close coordination with the Regional Marketing and Communications team, present the audience quarterly reports to the country leadership team for revision and discussion and provide advice and support for reaching the targets.
  • Proactively share results and best practice across the cluster/region marketing team and with regional and SBU leaders and the Marketing Community of Practice.

 

Consultancy, analysis and problem-solving

  • Contribute to marketing strategies, plans and approaches for Armenia.
  • Apply core technical knowledge to support the development of new or improved practice to drive business growth and reduce duplication of activities and expenditure.

 

Internal customer focus

  • Support building an in-depth understanding of Armenia operational context, opportunities and challenges for marketing functions and teams.
  • Facilitate successful internal communications within Armenia.

Proactively seek internal customer and other stakeholder feedback to monitor satisfaction 

  • with the provision of marketing services for the country and discuss those with the country and regional marketing teams.

 

Service improvement

  • Support the implementation of new country marketing approaches and/or techniques which enhance efficiency and wider business impact, ensuring alignment across the cluster and to the regional marketing strategy.
  • Support our work on audiences and market segmentation for Armenia, working closely with the South Caucasus Marketing Manager and country teams.
  • Explain to customers and colleagues within Armenia the need for compliance with agreed marketing policies and processes, producing country reports to demonstrate compliance as needed.
  • Champion the deployment of the British Council brand architecture, monitor country compliance, and manage interventions to address and resolve reasons for non-compliance

 

Functional expertise

  • Contribute to the production of marketing materials liaising with all relevant teams by writing, proofreading, editing and designing material produced.
  • Strengthen and expand our media partnerships and the British Council public visibility and ensure our programmes and projects are visible and widely communicated in Armenia. Work closely with the regional Communications Manager to share success stories about our work in Armenia with the audiences in the UK.
  • Produce and upload content for different marketing channels, including country website and social media, making sure they are on brand with no broken links and spelling errors.
  • Ensure proper translation of the web / online content and preparation of all the internal documents in Armenian and English.
  • Provide proactive professional advice and support to country teams to ensure local and area specific requirements for Armenia are high quality, effective and compliant with marketing policy, process and governance.
  • Proactively pursue an annual cycle of formally recognised Continuing Professional Development to maintain and deepen the professional expertise. 

 

Relationship and stakeholder management

  • Proactively participate in the Marketing Community of Practice and network of marketing professionals developing good working relationships with marketing colleagues across the organisation and the business and operational teams across Armenia and South Caucasus cluster.
  • Develop peer/personal networks within and outside Marketing to enhance own knowledge and expertise.
  • Proactively build and maintain excellent relationships with internal partners and stakeholders to ensure integrated, joined up and future-proofed approaches and solutions.

 

Compliance with values and policies:

  • Ensure that country marketing and communications is in line with the British Council codes of practice, regulations and policies including but not limited to our policies on Child Protection, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and Environment.

 

Child Protection:

Design and monitor the delivery of the Child Protection Country Action plan based on the regional plan, ensure that all the staff is aware and follows the necessary requirements and contributes to the delivery of the country action plan.

RequiredQualifications

Education: Relevant professional qualification in marketing and communications, e.g. CIM, Melcrum, GCN, CIPR, WOMMA etc., or equivalent experience in relevant discipline.

 

Work experience: At least three years’ experience in organisational Marketing and Communications role within a medium or large organisation.

Language requirements: Fluent written and spoken English (minimum C1 level) should be supported by Aptis or an internationally recognised English test (IELTS or similar). If the candidate meets all the essential requirements but doesn't have an English language certificate, an Aptis test will be carried out free of charge for such candidates after shortlisting. It should be noted, however, that certificates will not be granted in such cases. The results of the test will be used for the internal selection purposes only.

Interview: If shortlisted, you will be invited for an interview. Please note, that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.

Other tests: After the interview you will be given additional tests in marketing and communications.
