Responsibilities
-The incumbent provides first level supervision to six locally engaged NIV Visa Assistants
-S/he is responsible for ensuring staff is fully trained on regulations, procedures, and equipment necessary for their work
-S/he also plans staff duties to address workload demand in consultation with the Supervisory Visa Specialist, Visa Chief, and the Chief of the Consular Section
-In addition to these responsibilities, the jobholder must perform all the required responsibilities of the NIV Visa Assistant position, including: document pre-screening, organizing and tracking visa requests accordingly to a relatively complicated set of law and procedures, ensuring that biographical data on visa applicants is accurately captured in the system, translating for Consular Officers, answering public inquiries, and preparing and processing visa cases according to pre-defined consular best practices. Procedures and policies are clearly defined. The employee receives work assignments and tasks according to standard operating procedures and then inputs relevant data into an established process, which includes visa printing, filing, tracking case status and inserting case notes.

RequiredQualifications
-At least two years college studies required
-3 years of administrative or government services work. At least two years of experience in the area of consular work or similar work involving attention to detail and application of relatively complex regulatory or legal materials
-Level 4 (fluent) English and Armenian is required. (this may be tested)
-Level 3 (good working knowledge) Russian required. (this may be tested)
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
