Terms of Reference for Healthy Nutrition Workshop Expert/Facilitator
The expert on healthy nutrition will be responsible for conducting and facilitating series of workshops on healthy nutrition during November-December, 2018 period within the framework of Action for Child Health and Education Project (2017-2020) implemented by Save the Children in Armenia. The workshops are designed for three type of target audience: for media representatives, education services providers and CSOs working in the field of healthy nutrition.
The representatives of MoH and other relevant state stakeholders will be invited to all three workshops to make presentations and participate at discussions.
The workshop for media will increase knowledge of 40 media representatives, including TV, radio and social media on healthy food and importance of healthy nutrition and build their capacity on correct messaging and professional reporting.
The workshop for education service providers will bring together more than 40 school teachers and management staff from program target communities, as well as education policy makers from MoES and Municipalities to present the importance of healthy nutrition and non-formal health education in schools and discuss possible ways on integration of healthy nutrition and healthy lifestyle in schools' educational curriculum.
The workshop for 40 representatives of international and local NGOs/CSOs, including MCH Alliance members will serve as a platform to discuss and design join strategies on increasing awareness of children, parents and population at whole on healthy food and healthy nutrition.
Save the Children team will recommend workshop participants to revise their current and potential programs and integrate healthy nutrition campaign where relevant.
Responsibilities
-Conduct healthy lifestyle workshops for media, education services provider and CSOs
-Develop/update module of the workshop based on Save the Children's requirements
-Perform proper documentation related to the sessions, including attendance logs and knowledge assessments tests
-Coordinate all activities with Save the Children's Project Coordinator and provide workshops' reports (narrative and photos) per request
RequiredQualifications
-Degree from a recognized institution, preferable in medicine or food security/safety
-Proven experience in teaching/training and in public health education
-Good knowledge of interactive methods of presentation and facilitation
-Excellent presentation skills, ability to work with different groups of people
-Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, ability to listen and provide constructive feedback
-Fluency in written and spoken Armenian
-Report writing skills
-Particular requirement
-No person performing any task for or on behalf of Save the Children must in any way be involved or associated with the abuse or exploitation of children as described in the Save the Children Child Safeguarding Policy.
