Responsibilities

• Create a strategic plan for the deployment of information security technologies and program enhancements,
• Integrate IT systems development with security policies and information protection strategies,
• Audit existing systems and provide comprehensive risk assessments,
• Monitor computer networks for security issues,
• Investigate security breaches and other cyber security incidents,
• Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs,
• Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause,
• Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard,
• Develop company-wide best practices for IT security,
• Perform penetration testing,
• Help colleagues install security software and understand information security management,
• Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management,
• Stay current on Information/Cyber security trends and news,
• Stay up-to-date on information technology trends and security standards,
• Prepare financial forecasts for security operations and proper maintenance cover for security assets,
• Spearhead education programs focused on user awareness and security compliance,
• Policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines development and implementation.

RequiredQualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field,
• Experience in information security or related field,
• Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques,
• Understanding of firewalls, Proxies, SIEM, Antivirus, DLP and IDS/IPS concepts,
• Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them,
• Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact,
• Logic and objectivity,
• Attention to detail, analytical abilities and the ability to recognize trends in data,
• Communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a range of people,
• A proactive approach with the confidence to make decisions,
• A methodical and well-organized approach to work,
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines,
• Understanding of confidentiality issues, and the law relating to them.
