Responsibilities
- Turning high-touch manual processes into fully automatic solutions, and maintaining and improving existing automations
- Use your clear understanding of automation and orchestration procedures to automate wherever and whenever possible while eliminating technical debt
- Find optimizations and other efficiencies in order to scale applications and services
- Communicate end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioural characteristics of the production services you own
- Consult with and guide development teams to engineer scalable, fail-safe, and optimized solutions for the Workfront product suite
- Be an expert at articulating technical characteristics of your services and the dependencies between services
- Understand and be able to communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the services you own: . Degradation behavior under load . Tuning and optimizing resource utilization as load patterns fluctuate . Instrumentation and metrics that clearly describe service behaviors . Scaling requirements and patterns . Resiliency and recoverability; test, maintain and improve existing processes, implement, test, and maintain new processes
RequiredQualifications
- Automation must be part of your DNA. 7-9+ years as a DevOps Engineer, Systems Engineer, SRE, or Software Engineer (with Operations/Systems experience) with emphasis on automation, orchestration, and software development and design
- 7-9+ years experience building, provisioning, and operating highly-available and complex services in AWS and/or GCP. Experience in both preferred
- 7-9+ years experience in modern development practices (microservices architectures, ReST interfaces, etc.)
- 7-9+ years experience in software development and/or automation experience in languages such as Python, Ruby, Bash, Perl, C/C++/Java. Python preferred
- 5+ experience in container management/orchestration. Kubernetes preferred
- 5+ experience with other orchestration tools such as Saltstack, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible. Saltstack preferred
- Solid ability to define and document technical architectures of highly-complex and scalable systems
- 5+ experience with red/black or blue/green, canary, and feature flag deployments
