Responsibilities
- Research and study best practices of current and completed business development interventions of various local and international organizations, with a critical judgement on feasibility, effectiveness and efficiency of their technical approaches (project models/options), considering Armenian local context
- Based on the study, come up with various business development models and concepts that would best fit COAF's mission and strategic approaches
- Identify and recommend the most feasible mechanisms and operational models for strengthening the business development component of COAF SMART Initiative in general, and COAF SMART Center operations in Lori in particular
- Provide full technical and operational support to the implementation of economic development projects, with a focus on agribusiness development
- Provide full range of monitoring and evaluation activities throughout the whole implementation process
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders, including communities, beneficiaries, regional and federal governments, international partners, corporations, NGOs, investors and private donors
- Expand strategic partnerships with public and private sectors
RequiredQualifications
- Master's Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or a related field
- 3 years of relevant experience gained within a consultancy, government/public authority, or industry is highly desirable
- Conceptual understanding of business development interventions targeting rural areas, including AgroTech
- Experience in designing and implementing rural development projects, solid knowledge of socio-economic fabric of the rural regions of Armenia
- Proven track record in starting new successful businesses is a must
- Excellent technical skills in writing business plans, preparing and managing budgets and financial planning
- Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently and within strict deadlines
- Fluency in Armenian, English and Russian languages (both verbal and written). Knowledge of additional foreign language is a plus
- Good understanding of Armenian economic policies and business realities
