Responsibilities
Working under the supervision of the Pilot Projects Coordinator the Water Engineer handles the following duties:
- Assist activities of identifying project types and locations, primary evaluation and quantification of potential sites;
- Develop the pilot project proposals including feasibility study design, assessment on economic advantage, identification of technology supplier for the pilot projects,in cooperation of with Pilot Projects Coordinator;
- Assist in development of RFPs (Request for Proposal) for USAID approval;
- Summarize proposals and qualify purchasing options. Assist and advise on contracting and equipment purchasing tasks for pilot projects;
- Assist in coordination of tenders for pilot project design and implementation;
- Assist in implementation and evaluation of the water pilot projects, particularly those related to the USAID PURE Project;
- Assist with program activities in implementing the USAID environmental compliance requirements related to pilot projects;
- Prepare written reports and relevant Program deliverables;
- Provide required input in the preparation of program progress reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual) and work plans, PMP, data quality and data control;
- Perform other job-related tasks as may be required by Chief of Party.
RequiredQualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Water and Wastewater Engineering;
- Good knowledge of the water infrastructure (irrigation and portable) in Armenia;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Excellent time management and organizational skills;
- Ability to work effectively within a team and individually;
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, tight time constraints and extensive travels to the communities in Ararat Valley;
- Fluency in written and spoken Armenian language; good knowledge of written English language;
- At least 3 years of work experience in water infrastructure projects; experience of work with international organizations is desirable.
