Description
The incumbent will pro-actively engage with local self-government body, community, donor organizations of the target community (World Vision, any other donor organization) and other interested stakeholders to support efforts aimed at child well-being and child protection. Support the promotion, development and operation of institutes, systems and procedures to achieve transformational development for integrated holistic sustainable development in reducing poverty with special emphasis on children protection, gender and disability.

Responsibilities
The functional guidelines of the Community Social Worker assume the implementation of the following duties and responsibilities in cooperation with World Vision:

Responsibilities with regard to Child Sponsorship:
- The Community Social Worker will be responsible for visiting all registered children of World Vision Armenia Lori Marz communities at least once every three months;
- During each visit the Community Social Worker will accurately fill-in the Child Management Form, recording the child's education, health, protection status and benefits the child and family received from the Area Program; and make note of any necessary follow-up.

Community Visits and Monitoring:
- Build good relationships with registered children and their families;
- Record any child and family participation in the project's activities;
- Ensure any child's matter and/ or concern during each visit is timely reported to sponsorship staff for follow-up;
- Work closely with the Area Program sponsorship staff by monitoring the continued participation of registered children and their families in the program;
- Follow up the issues identified through monitoring process;
- Ensure active participation of children in the program.

Collaboration with Sponsorship Staff:
- Organize at least 3-4 fun and meaningful events with children on annual basis to fulfill the sponsorship requirements in an engaging way;
- Assist sponsorship staff in Sponsorship Introduction meeting with local authority;
- Work closely with sponsorship staff to conduct sponsorship introduction and orientation to community;
- Enhance community understanding about sponsorship goals, objectives and its procedures;
- Be a support person in the village and community training on Sponsorship Administration.

Responsibilities with regard to Community Engagement:
- Actively engage in and support the Area Program designated staff members to facilitate the process of participatory community development through strengthening community ownership, ensuring community mobilization and participation in identification, prioritization and solution of community problems;
- Participate in the trainings on community engagement and mobilization techniques; application of community development tools, etc. organized by World Vision or other organizations;
- Support the Area Program team to effectively apply the community engagement and mobilization techniques, at all stages of area development programming of World Vision or any other interested donor organization contributing to the development of the target community.

General Responsibilities:
- Participate in meetings, trainings and other capacity development activities organized for community mobilizers;
- Support the Area Program staff in selecting, mobilizing and engaging the community inhabitants in the events and capacity development activities;
- Submit monthly reports to the management of the partner community-based organization on the activities/ tasks accomplished within the reporting period.

Responsibilities with regard to "Caring for Equality" Project:
- Participate in trainings and events on-gender based violence and prenatal sex selection;
- Involve in activities in community on prevention of gender based violence. Identify, report and refer cases of violence based on information and knowledge acquired in trainings and work;
- Form community family/ couples and youth groups and conduct "Caring for Equality" training based on special module;
- Conduct training in gender-based violence and prenatal sex selection for staff of service providers in communities;
- Maintain constant contact with "Caring for Equality" team for project implementation and for reporting on gender-based violence cases.

RequiredQualifications
- Strong communications skills in the Armenian language;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Demonstrated commitment to the community;
- Ability to establish and maintain relationship with the community;
- Ability to travel frequently within the community;
- Willingness to be flexible with hours when necessary.
