Description
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organisation with the exclusively humanitarian mission to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It also endeavors to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening International Humanitarian Law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
The ICRC Mission in Nagorno-Karabakh is announcing vacant six-months full-time position of Communication Trainee based in Stepanakert.
Main responsibilities:
Under supervision of the Communication Officer, the Communication Trainee contributes to the implementation of Communication projects and activities also represents the ICRC externally and supports to build the necessary understanding, acceptance of the ICRC among key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
-Supports Communication department in financial activities by preparing requisition orders
-Helps Communication Officer to organize IHL(International Humanitarian Law) events: prepares list of attendees, takes care of logistics and administration related issues
-Implements daily media monitoring
-Contributes to/drafts the Communication part of the monthly report of the Mission
-Helps Communication Officer in preparation of ad hoc reports as requested by Management or other departments
-Collects information from departments and drafts the annual operational fact-sheet of the Mission
-Ensures the Mission's photo-stock is regularly updated
-Facilitates various visits, by coordinating with the departments' list of beneficiaries and sites to be visited and coordinates it with Communication Officer
-Drafts content on ICRC activities in Nagorno-Karabakh and shares with Delegation
-Supports Communication Officer in other required fields
RequiredQualifications
-Fresh graduates of Law, Journalism, Communication sphere or educated to degree level or above
-Excellent communication skills
-Excellent knowledge of spoken and written Armenian, English and Russian
-Good understanding of local and national press/media and key publications
-Computer proficiency
-Good in research and fact-checking skills
-Previous experience of working in relevant sphere will be an asset
-Confidence and self-motivation to support in all aspects to Communication Team
