Responsibilities

The Executive Director will be responsible for:

  • Providing effective communication and represent AmCham on behalf of its members, with the RA Government, US Government, international and diplomatic community in Armenia, wider business community, AmCham network worldwide, etc.
  • Developing an annual AmCham Public Relations/Communications strategy as well as Events Timetable and overseeing its implementation
  • Developing an AmCham advocacy agenda based on consultation with members and external parties
  • Representing AmCham on various working groups and committees
  • Developing AmCham’s budget and oversee its accurate implementation
  • Maintaining strategic alliances with international organizations operating in Armenia
  • Diversifying funding sources of AmCham working with other international donor institutions operating in Armenia on projects of mutual interest
  • Promoting AmCham, looking for new members, while engaging as many existing members as possible
  • Reporting to the Board of Directors on regular basis, developing minutes of the Board meetings
  • Ensuring that AmCham maintains a strong customer-service focus and is responsive to members’ needs
  • Serving as an Editor-in-Chief for all AmCham publications and the website. Overseeing the publication of the AmCham Business Magazine, membership Directory, and Monthly Newsletter
  • Serving as an intermediary between member companies and foreign businesses
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations of the organization
  • Implementing other tasks, as assigned by the Board of Directors.

RequiredQualifications

  • Have 5+ years of experience in managing teams or projects in business, international organizations, non-profit organizations, public service and/or international donor projects.
  • Master’s degree in business, economics, public policy, and related fields
  • Be familiar with the overall business environment in Armenia
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written Armenian and English (other languages are an asset)
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, team work and coordination skills
  • Strong sense of cultural diversity
  • Experience in fundraising and/or lobbying is a plus.
