Description
The ICRC Delegation in Armenia is seeking an experienced, solution-oriented, accurate, responsible, self-organized and energetic individual for the position of Generalist Field Officer 2 based in Ijevan, Tavush region, to fill this new position as soon as possible.
The overall responsibilities attached to this new position will include:
Acting as a focal point of the ICRC in Tavush region, the Generalist Field Officer contributes to the design, and autonomously implements and monitors several ICRC projects in different fields of activities, such as Protection, Assistance, Cooperation, Communication, Health (emergency preparedness) or other activities and tasks, contributing to the representation of the ICRC at local level.
This is a full-time position based in Ijevan, Tavush region.
Responsibilities
-Acts as the ICRC's focal point in the communities affected by the conflict at international border (Tavush region)
-Ensures necessary level of proximity of the ICRC with the communities and relevant actors, contributes to greater coherence, multidisciplinarity and transversality of the ICRC action in terms of Protection, Assistance, Cooperation, Communication and Health/Emergency Preparedness.
-Ensures systematic follow-up and bridging of activities, such as:
-Engagement with local communities through Safer Behaviour agenda
-Assistance projects for vulnerable houselholds and individuals
-Awareness raising activities (first aid, mine/uxo awareness)
-Identifiying protection needs and responses
-Health/PSS and Emergency preparedness activities
-In collaboration with the concerned departments contributes to the design/orientations of the programs and projects, implements and follows up on various field activities, with a significant degree of autonomy, and in accordance with the delegation's objectives and guidelines
-Monitors the humanitarian environment and needs, analyses the socio-economic, cultural and political environment relevant to the ICRC at local and/or national levels. Shares relevant information with concerned Programs/departments and reports any change in the situation
-Develops good relationship with ARCS Tavush regional branch
-Collects, compiles, translates/interprets information in relation with the projects and writes related reports
-Identifies and follows-up the main security risks, contributes to relevant reporting and evaluation systems of security incidents, threats and trends, advising the structure's management on any security-related events that could have an impact on ICRC's activities and staff or require a changes to security framework
-Develops and maintains contacts with local or national stakeholders, participates in relevant internal and external meetings
-Ensures administrative and financial follow-up
-Participates in internal and external sessions or briefings on ICRC field activities
-May supervise staff
RequiredQualifications
-University degree, preferably in Project Management and/or Economics
-Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Working experience in an international organization would be a plus, preferably in humanitarian field
-Fluent knowledge of Armenian and English languages; Russian language would be considered as an asset
-Very good computer skills (Word, Excel, Databases)
-Certification of training in team managing/leading and project management would be an asset
-Good communication, presentation and planning skills, ability to work in a team
-Valid manual driving license
