Description
The Mine Foreman is responsible for the crew's overall safety and needs to recognize and react to any perceived safety threats on site.
Responsibilities
- Plan and direct the digging and removal of waste and ore and placing it in the right area according to the mine plan;
- Maintain a budget and keep to a timeline while ensuring the overall productivity, quality and safety of the mine;
- Follow all safety requirements as per regulations for Industrial Safety and Lydian Armenian safety polices;
- Refuse, suspend or stop work in progress if it is unsafe or if it is jeopardizing human life and health;
- Direct and manage daily crew activity to achieve safe, efficient, and optimal production;
- Responsible for accurate compilation and submittal of employee time sheets;
- Effectively interface with other departments and contractors in pursuit of mine site production goals;
- Pursue opportunities for continuous improvement;
- Motivate, coach, and develop employees to achieve mine site production goals;
- Implement and hold accountable crew adherence and support of the Health, Safety and Security program and associated policies and procedures;
- Collaborate with others to effectively implement change management and recognize best practices;
- Responsible for the safe and efficient use of mining and associated support equipment, including task training of mining and support equipment operators;
- Ensure compliance of all Company policies/ procedures;
- Process, understand, and pursue the key objectives associated with mine production (production targets and associated cost constraints);
- Evaluate daily crew performance and complete formal reviews as needed;
- Responsible for developing future proficient equipment operators from within the crew;
- Understand and follow engineering.
RequiredQualifications
- 15 years of open pit mining experience;
- 5 years of previous supervision of crews of up to 45 people;
- Knowledge of working with or operating large mining equipment. Experience with 350-ton shovel and 200-ton haul trucks is preferable;
- Degree in Mining Engineering is desired;
- Knowledge of Armenian and Russian languages; knowledge of English language is advantage;
- Availability of a driving license.
