Description
The main duties of the Adviser for Sustainable Forest Management as IBiS AM team member include working closely together with the Forest Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, with Hayantar SNCO and related Forest Enterprises in all issues related to sustainable forest management, such as training measures, capacity development issues and other issues to be agreed upon.

Responsibilities
- Support key stakeholders in amending or implementing the existing strategy/ principles for sustainable forest management on the national level;
- Support key stakeholders in the implementation of forest management, community forestry and community afforestation;
- With a good understanding of forestry including forest economy, silviculture and forest ecology, advise the partner organizations in forest management including forest management planning on forest enterprise level;
- Conceptualize series of trainings events and other human capacity development measures in the field of forest management;
- Steer national and international consultants;
- Conduct meetings, workshops and conferences on the national level;
- Perform other duties to be assigned by the Team Leader.

RequiredQualifications
- University degree (equivalent to MA/ MS) in Forestry, Forest Sciences or Natural Sciences with a very close linkage to Forest Management;
- More than 3 years of practical experiences working in forest management, community forestry or related issues;
- Excellent working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software, phone, fax, email and Internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office);
- Good knowledge of IT-tools in the field of environmental information (e.g. forest management information system and GIS systems) is a great asset;
- Ability to work as an Advisor; strong organizational competence, high sense of responsibility;
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Willingness to travel nationally as well as internationally;
- Fluency in Armenian language; excellent knowledge of English language, both spoken and written.
