The Local Fundraising Consultant will support the Communities Association of Armenia (CAA) in building its capacity in fundraising.
Responsibilities
In coordination with the Project Team, the following tasks should be undertaken in the framework of the consultancy:
- Assess the practical capacity building needs of the Communities Association of Armenia (CAA) (staff and selected members) for fundraising and prepare a short document on identified topics, including relevant recommendations (the assessment should be conducted through meetings and on-line survey of CAA's leadership, staff and selected members of the CAA);
- Prepare and conduct a fundraising training for staff and selected members of the CAA based on the needs identified, and in particular:
a) Prepare an application form for interested members of the CAA to apply for participating in the fundraising training;
b) Take part in the process of selection of the participants of the fundraising training based on their applications;
c) Develop agenda, presentations and hand-outs of the training;
d) Facilitate the training using interactive methods;
- Provide support to the international consultant on financial sustainability in the process of development of the financial sustainability plan of the CAA, and in particular:
a) Answer e-mail inquiries about the legal context, opportunities and limitations for specific types of fundraising;
b) Accompany the international consultant during meetings with the CAA regarding analysis of its financial situation.
DELIVERABLES:
- At least 5 page document with a list of the CAAs capacity building needs for fundraising based on meetings and on-line surveys of the CAA leadership, staff and all members by 05 May 2017;
- Application form for selection of interested members of the CAA to participate in the fundraising training by 12 May 2017;
- Agenda, hand-outs and presentation(s) for the fundraising training by 18 May 2017;
- Facilitation of fundraising training for the staff and selected members of the CAA by 31 May 2017.
RequiredQualifications
- Degree in Financial Management, Social Studies or other relevant fields;
- Solid experience (more than 5 years) in consulting non for-profit organizations on fundraising, including good knowledge of project proposal development and requirements of key donors (EU, USAID, etc.);
- Good knowledge of local democracy and local self-government issues in Armenia;
- Excellent drafting skills; the ability to translate complex ideas and concepts into clear and concrete language;
- Ability to focus on activities/ deliverables from a quality, efficiency and accuracy perspective respecting deadlines;
- Full professional proficiency in Armenian language; good knowledge of English language.
