Description
The Communications and PR Coordinator is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the Country Office's communications with internal and external stakeholders including Members, other COs, SCI Centre, media, donors, partners, public, government and others. He/ she is primarily responsible for coordinating production and dissemination of communication materials, including through traditional and social media, which include but are not limited to press releases, brochures, leaflets, web sites, social media pages, newsletters, print, audio and video materials and success stories. The Incumbent ensures that the Armenian Country Office's publicity materials are up-to-date and compliant to respective SCI and/ or donor requirements. The incumbent is responsible for overall coordination of public events organized by the CO. He/ she will work in close consultation with the Team Leader, Advocacy Expert, as well as Child Protection and Inclusive Education and Youth Experts (Core Team) to ensure accuracy and synergy of public outreach messaging.
Responsibilities
- Be in charge for developing and implementing a communication strategy for Armenian CO in coordination with the Core Team of Experts (the strategy should employ all relevant traditional and modern channels and media);
- Responsible for development and implementation of public outreach campaigns in line with SCI global strategy;
- Develop, maintain, update and edit presentation materials, brochures, posters, leaflets, social media pages and websites related to Armenia CO programs; ensure high quality of the content and visibility of presentation materials;
- Produce Save the Children's annual report to stakeholders, beneficiaries, donors and wider public reflecting CO achievements and important events;
- Coordinate the organization of SCI Armenian Country Office's official events;
- Ensure effective media engagement and relations;
- Ensure compliance of the CO communication materials with the respective donor and SCI standards;
- Support the CO programmes as it comes to communications and outreach, specifically through producing success and human interest stories, development of advocacy and outreach messages, tailoring identification of audience, etc.;
- Prepare information materials as per member or the center requests;
- Travel to the project sites; conduct interviews with beneficiaries, community members and local officials; take photographs and maintain a database for photographs to be used for various information materials; write success stories and photo stories based on evidence from the field and life interviews;
- Inform the supervisor about any problem noted at the project sites;
- Support the Core Team in reaching out to corporate sponsors to fund/ co-fund SCI programs;
- Provide input to emergency preparedness and response planning in line with the SCI's full mandate;
- Perform other Armenia CO outreach tasks as assigned by the Team Leader.
RequiredQualifications
- Degree from a recognized institute in Journalism, Social Science, Linguistics or any related field;
- At least 5 years of professional experience;
- Excellent writing skills;
- Strong organizational skills;
- High level of maturity, responsibility and accountability;
- Sound judgment and attention to details;
- Ability to work effectively in a team;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Armenian languages;
- Strong knowledge of new communication technologies;
- Excellent computer skills in MS Word and PowerPoint; web design skills are a plus.
