Description
Responsibilities
- Strategically planning and managing logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
- Contributing to the creation and implementation of best practice warehouse vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures
- Directing, optimizing and coordinating full order cycle
- Planning, coordinating and monitoring the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods
- Ensuring efficient and effective use of warehouse space to include layout and future capacity requirements
- Creating policies and procedures for warehouse activities and ensuring all systems meet the standards for accreditation in line with the quality systems
- Handling technical details relating to possibly international transportation, such as customs regulations and any necessary documentation
- Liaising and negotiating with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers
- Coordinating with Procurement department for receiving of goods items from suppliers
- Ensuring stocking and loading of products according to FIFO rules
- Effectively controlling product losses/damages as per setting standards during product storage/handling
- Evaluating routing solutions, recommending optimal transportation solution and creating optimal freight movements
- Performing basic investigations of mission requirements and providing fielding and scheduling recommendations for systems and equipment upgrades
- Developing business by gaining new contracts, analyzing logistical problems and producing new solutions
- Efficiently evaluating the costs of transportation, services and inventory within any budget or distribution strategy
- Keeping track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
- Ensuring that vehicles, machinery and equipment is well maintained and fit for purpose
- Ensuring the relevance and accuracy of all documentation relating to goods in and goods out including labeling of all stock items
- Maintaining metrics and analyzing data to assess performance and implement improvements
- Using IT systems to manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs
RequiredQualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain
- Proven working experience as a logistics or warehouse manager
- Knowledge of military logistics, supply, and general shop operations
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff
- Proficient in standard logistics software
- Knowledge of GDP standards
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
- Abilities of qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Time management skills
- Ability of team building and team motivation
