Responsibilities
- Help drive the long-term big data architecture and infrastructure by working in conjunction with Product and Engineering Management to align with business goals
- Act as part of infrastructure operations and architectural teams
- Craft the tools for infrastructure management and monitoring
- Be accountable for the end-to-end availability, efficiency, reliability and security of the Big Data infrastructure
- Design and optimize event architecture
- Build and maintain efficient tooling for the entire engineering productivity
RequiredQualifications
- BS/MA degree in a highly quantitative field or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience as a SRE/SysAdmin, DevOps, or equivalent role
- Experience with big data tech stack (Hadoop, HDFS, HBase, Kafka, Spark, Spark Streaming, Presto, Hive, Drupal, Flume, Samza, Yarn) is required
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux systems administration experience with configuration automation tools, such as puppet, chef or ansibleExperience with container stacks and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, ECS, etc)
- Knowledge of Bash Scripting and Java (or other OOP language) is a plus
- Experience in managing small teams is a plus
- Experience with Python, Scala is a plus
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with strong analytical and research skills
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, motivation, and desire for continuous improvement
- Balance attention to detail with swift execution
- Advanced written and verbal English communication skills
