Description
Responsibilities
- Layer 2-3 support for Windows and Linux computers.
- Maintain network servers and services;
- Ensure network connectivity and maintenance of company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure & components
- Provide application support on Windows servers, MS SQL Server, IIS, etc.
- Actively participate in project planning and take a leadership role (as needed) to ensure timely and successful completion of projects assigned to IT team
- Understand the needs and challenges of projects to formulate solutions that support their business and technical strategies and goals.
- Recommend, develop and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, configuration management and security
- Partnering with global IT Team, develops operating procedures for system administration activities including system monitoring, performance tuning, backup/recovery, server architecture design, and system maintenance, as necessary
- Test new patch/software releases to ensure compatibility to minimize impact and downtime
- Working with the global IT team to administer, automate, maintain and support:
- All Linux server operating systems (CentOS and Ubuntu primarily, may also include RedHat)
- Atlassian products like Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence etc.
RequiredQualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field
- 4-7 years’ experience in the administration of complex systems environments with a strong understanding of business impact and systems management
- Hands-on experience in Linux System Administration and proficiency in software including VMware, SCCM, SCOM, 0365, various protocols including Ipv4/6, TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, SMTP, SSL, etc.
- Experience with modern web architectures & cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
- Advanced experience with complex software installation, software upgrades and system migrations
- Advanced diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to produce repeatable results
- Experience with automation of complex and diverse business and operational workflows. Experience with enterprise automation is preferred
- Knowledge of virtualized computer environments and management of virtualized systems based on VMWare virtualization solutions
- Knowledge of database technologies and basic DBA skills (Mongo, MySQL)
- Should be self-motivated and able to meet goals with little oversight
