Description
AGBU is looking for a highly qualified and motivated specialist to lead its Research and Analysis efforts. The position provides the opportunity to professionals with experience to further develop AGBU's efforts in conducting Research and Analysis in specific areas and producing comprehensive recommendations for internal and external use. The Head of Research and Analysis works closely with the management team of AGBU Armenia. He/ she assists the AGBU Armenia management team in structuring complex problems, sets up analytical frameworks to analyse these and formulates recommendations based on facts and findings. The Head of Research and Analysis recruits and develops his/ her team, sets priorities and ensures distribution of projects among team members and available resources.
Responsibilities
Management:
- Identify strategic areas for AGBU Armenia's Research and Analysis within each direction (education, culture, socio-economic development, capacity building, humanitarian relief);
- Align strategic priorities with the management;
- Conduct research, analyse and provide recommendation for each research area;
- Identify relevant collaboration areas with AGBU Global;
- Act as sounding board for analysis and content development of different departments and project teams within AGBU Armenia;
- Develop and submit internal AGBU semi-annual and annual reports (including to HQ);
- Oversee the work of the M&E expert, design and co-develop impact measurements.
Department:
- Develop strategy for own department based on AGBU Armenia's strategy;
- Develop frameworks and approaches to conduct research and analysis, including the system with clearly defined and measurable outcomes for each AGBU project;
- Develop a database of information and statistics used for research;
- Design and coordinate research studies/ evaluations (both quantitative and qualitative), including evaluation plan addressing logic models, strategic and program research/ evaluation questions, data collection methods, analysis and reporting;
- Develop Intellectual Capital for internal use based on research conducted, lessons learned from projects;
- Develop reports to share with external stakeholders on relevant topics;
- Ensure quality and rigor of both qualitative and quantitative analysis conducted and recommendations are delivered;
- Develop succinct written documents;
- Oversee development of business cases.
Team:
- Set priorities for the team;
- Develop individual development plans for team members.
RequiredQualifications
- Master's degree or other advanced degree;
- 5 years of experience in a similar position;
- Knowledge and experience of program evaluation/ research principles, theories, concepts and practices;
- Ability to structuring complex topics for analysis;
- Demonstrated expertise in successfully designing and carrying out quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation processes;
- Understanding of data collection and analysis, ability in data design and management;
- Excellent problem structuring and solving abilities, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong quantitative skills, and personal maturity;
- Pro-active mindset; result-oriented attitude; self-starter;
- Ability to manage teams and work with senior professionals;
- Good command of English and Armenian languages; knowledge of Russian language will be an advantage;
- Excellent computer knowledge with excellent command of MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, SPSS and other statistical applications (e.g. R, SAS, MatLab, Qualtrics).
