Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementing environmental and social responsibility standards, policy, procedures in line with international guidelines (IFC, OPIC, etc.) and ContourGlobal's Environmental and Sustainability policy
- Collect, analyze and manage business level environmental and social responsibility objectives, targets and programs to ensure proper alignment with corporate objectives
- Establish, support and maintain monitoring system to track environmental and social metrics
- Ensure reporting guidelines for environmental and social reporting are followed and all business staff is properly trained on all relevant environmental and social aspects
- Review environmental and social reporting to ensure accuracy and highlight key variances to targets to management and business leaders, including managing the periodic reporting process
- Identify and document all business requirements to comply with environmental legislation and other applicable environmental requirements
- Develop and execute community environmental and social engagement, education and training programs and events
- Organize and coordinate all activities regarding elaboration, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS), ensuring its suitability and effective operation, considering ContourGlobal standards, ISO 14001 standards and best practices -Coordinate all activities regarding Total Waste Management
- Participate execute and participate actively in CG´s environmental and social responsibility internal audit program
- Provide support in incidents review and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are identified and implemented
- Actively participate in incident investigations and follow up programs
- Provide input and support to business and development teams on environmental and social responsibility issues
- Regularly monitor changes to environmental laws and regulations, revising monitoring and reporting requirements accordingly
- Work with Sustainability Committee to ensure environmental and social programs/projects/engagement activities and issues are properly considered and communicated within the organization
- Support on any Sustainability communication topic including annual report
- Lead and ensure all social responsibility investment projects and engagement social activities are planned, implemented and managed according to ContourGlobal standards and Sustainability,
- Committee requirements.
RequiredQualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or similar working field
- Significant (at least 5 years) experience in the field of industrial environment protection in a multinational company;
- Relevant professional certification and experience in a power industry are preferred (or in energy sector);
- Experience in Hazardous Waste Management and/or Environmental Remediation Services are preferred;
- An in-depth understanding of essential Armenian/International Environmental legislative framework;
- Proficiency in English (other languages are considered an advantage);
- Credibility and influencing skills to implement and manage an effective Environment Management System;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines;
- Team management and good communication skills;
- Decision making skills.
