Responsibilities
YOU: You have a passion for setting up and maintaining high traffic production systems, are self-motivated, and enjoy working in a user-focused, highly intelligent, entrepreneurial environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deploy and support high-performance, highly-available infrastructure on AWS
- Engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system tuning
- Conduct periodic on call duties
- Own the day-to-day health, uptime, monitoring, and reliability of our cloud infrastructure
- Work closely with engineering and project management to develop tools and solutions
- Identify tactical issues and react to emerging areas of concern
- Think long-term and dislike band-aids
- Identify unnecessary complexity and remove it
RequiredQualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- 5-10 years of experience in a modern SRE/SysAdmin, DevOps, or equivalent role
- Solid knowledge of the Linux command-line and architecture
- Strong knowledge of core protocols and tech such as: TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, load balancers
- AWS experience, including but not limited to EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, Auto Scale, ELB, Kinesis, Lambda
- Capability to program in at least one language (other than Bash), ideally Python, PHP or Java
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Salt, or Ansible
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Experience with APM, Centralized Logging and Monitoring tools
- Experience supporting Java Micro-Services in production
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
- Demonstrated experience in network and Linux system troubleshooting and maintenance practices
- Experience with CI tools and production code deployments
- Experience with Containers, Containerization and Container Orchestration
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
- Experience with DataDog, New Relic, Cloud Watch, SumoLogic, VividCortex
- Experience with Ansible
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
