Responsibilities
You Will
- Provide guidance on system architecture, code structure and quality, technical debt, and testing
- Work with data, product and engineering teams to build tools to allow internal and external teams to visualize and extract insights from big-data platforms
- Work with engineering management to institute processes where appropriate
- Demonstrate strong implementation aptitude to translate requirements into a scalable solution to meet the needs of the company and our clients, while meeting deadlines
- Implement operational best practices such as monitoring, alerting, and metadata management
RequiredQualifications
- 5+ years of modern Java
- 3+ years of Scala
- 3+ years of data engineering
- 2+ years of Spark
- 2+ years of Elasticsearch
- 2+ years of experience with AWS data ecosystem (Redshift, EMR, Pipeline, Glue, Athena, …)
- Strong SQL development experience (Postgres / AWS Redshift)
- Experience with building stream processing applications using Kinesis or Kafka
- Experience with open source ETL/ELT software
- Comfortable working in Linux environment
- Experience with python or shell scripting
