Description
The main objective of this assignment is to enhance the organizational capacity of the newly established Self-Governing Organization of Mediators by providing expert support for developing strategic and organisational development plan for 2017-2022.
Responsibilities
In coordination with the Project Team, other international and local consultants and the leadership of the Organization, the following tasks should be undertaken in the framework of the consultancy:
- Conduct a desk review of available documents on the main functions and objectives of the Organisation (charter, provisions of the laws and other relevant materials);
- Prepare an outline for the draft strategic and organisational development plan, propose a process, methodology and tools to be used and the timeline. Each step will be discussed and validated with the leadership of the Organisation and working group on the strategy. Documents will be adapted/ finalized based on the comments and suggestions received at every step of the process. In particular:
a) Prepare a strategy outline and proposal for the process and methodology to be presented at the first round-table discussion with the participation of members of the Organisation in May 2017, participate in the meeting and facilitate discussion;
b) Prepare a draft agenda and concept for the round-table discussion to launch the strategy development process and exchange of ideas and experiences;
c) Develop a first draft of the strategy and action plan based on the results of discussions with the members of the Organisation;
d) Submit the first draft of the strategy and action plan to the Organisation for comments;
e) Draft an agenda and methodology for the second round-table discussion to discuss the first draft of the strategy and action plan (June 2017);
f) Participate in the meetings and facilitate discussions;
- Finalize the draft strategy and action plan, as a result of the consultative process with members of the Organisation and relevant stakeholders, in particular:
a) Prepare a PowerPoint presentation of the draft strategy and action plan to be presented during the second round- table discussion with the Organisation members and the Organization Leadership Board, presenting the results of the overall process and gathering relevant feedback;
b) Finalize the draft strategy for 2017-2022 and the action plan for its final adoption by statutory bodies of the Organisation.
DELIVERABLES:
- Desk review of available documents - report (maximum two pages);
- Strategy outline, including the process and methodology for strategy development;
- First draft strategy and action plan;
- Draft agenda and methodology for two discussions with the members of the Organisation;
- PowerPoint presentation of the draft Strategy and the action Plan for each round-table discussion;
- Final draft strategy and organisational development plan for 2017-2022.
RequiredQualifications
- More than 5 years of experience in consulting newly established organisations (preferably non-for-profit organisations) on organisational development, with proven involvement in developing strategic plans;
- Experience in working with organisations of Armenia would be an asset;
- Ability to build positive working relations and facilitate collaboration between different stakeholders;
- Ability to focus on activities/ deliverables from a quality, efficiency and accuracy perspective observing deadlines;
- Excellent oral and drafting skills;
- Ability to translate complex ideas and concepts into clear and concrete language;
- Full professional proficiency in Armenian language; knowledge of English language would be an asset.
