Responsibilities
Counseling
- Accurately and clearly communicate the admissions requirements, policies, and procedures of AUA’s graduate and undergraduate programs in both English and Armenian for both in person visits and on the phone.
- Serve as point of contact for prospective students and families ensuring all questions are responded to appropriately and in a manner that creates a welcoming environment.
- Ensure all email communication to various admissions administered email addresses is responded to accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide engaging on-campus tours to prospective applicants.
Recruitment
- Assist with recruitment of new students by visiting schools, corresponding with high school personnel, contacting and arranging meetings with various high-schools and student groups.
- Travel with Admissions team to present AUA undergraduate and graduate programs to prospective students.
- Prepare and conduct engaging and informative presentations about AUA to prospective students, their families, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in creating recruitment strategies for undergraduate admissions and supporting graduate programs in their recruitment efforts.
- Assist in supporting recruitment events including, but not limited to, Open Houses, informational events, school visits, and more.
- Establish and maintain ties with Armenian schools and communities both locally and in the diaspora in order to complement University recruitment objectives.
- Support international recruitment efforts by researching potential leads and organizing virtual events.
Administrative
- Maintain and/or create files and records of correspondence, reports, policies, e-mail listings, applicant/school files, academic contacts, etc.
- Create and regular update an electronic database of all relevant leads for undergraduate, graduate, and other programs.
System
- Review online applications to ensure they are accurate and updated as necessary.
- Regularly conduct technical eligibility reviews of applications within AUA’s Online Application System expediently and ensuring no errors.
- Conduct transcript evaluations for graduate and undergraduate applicants ensuring GPA accuracy.
- Support staff to streamline and improve the online application system for a better user experience.
Other
- Ensure close collaboration with the Office of the Registrar.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Working with the Office of Communications, ensure timely social media updates and to maximize visibility.
- Working with the Alumni and Career Development Office, create an alumni ambassador program to facilitate alumni support in international recruitment efforts.
- Work with supervisor in updating promotional materials, ensuring information is updated, accurate, and engaging for the applicant audience.
RequiredQualifications
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree.
- One year of experience in related areas (preferably in an academic setting).
Skills
- Fluency in English and Armenian. Russian, Arabic, or Farsi is a plus.
- Very good writing skills in English in addition to one other language (Armenian, Russian, Arabic, or Farsi).
- Extremely attentive to details.
- Excellent online media communication skills (email, social networks, etc.)
- Very good computer skills (MS Office). Design knowledge is a plus.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and problem solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with both faculty, staff, and applicants.
Abilities
- Ability to give effective presentations.
- Ability to take initiative, act independently, and work in a team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.
