Driver
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organisation with the exclusively humanitarian mission to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening International Humanitarian Law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
The ICRC Delegation in Armenia is announcing a vacant full-time position of Driver based in Yerevan.
Under supervision of Dispatcher and/or Logistics Country Manager, the Driver contributes to the ICRC Armenia Delegation's logistical processes in a timely, accurate manner, in accordance with the ICRC rules and regulations and local traffic laws.
Responsibilities
-Drives different types of vehicles (light & heavy) in strict adherence to internal security rules and traffic laws of the Republic of Armenia: drives efficiently to minimize fuel consumption and use of material
-Constantly monitors security conditions on the road
-Ensures that goods are stored inside the vehicle according to local, international and organization safety standards, helps in (un-) loading of vehicles
-Performs various office work related to the logistic activities according to given procedures (preparation of financial documents for reimbursement, filing of logistics' documents, interact with suppliers…)
-Checks assigned per trip vehicles' equipment, general functioning and body conditions and ensures that it is kept fuelled and clean inside and out, checks that trips have been authorized where necessary
-Can act as a head of convoy as needed and/also perform small purchases upon request
-Assists the Mechanic to carry on tasks related to the maintenance of fleet upon request
RequiredQualifications
-Secondary school diploma or higher
-BC categories or upper driving license held for at least five years
-Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar field of activity
-Good knowledge of spoken and written English, Russian and Armenian
-Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment
-Masters 4/4 use, experience in truck driving would be an asset
-Automobile maintenance experience, basic knowledge of mechanics (experience as a mechanic would be an asset)
-Accurate, highly responsible personality
