Description
The main objective of the Young Expert for "Enhancing the Implementation of the International Environmental Conventions in Armenia" Project is to design the monitoring and implementation model for compliance with international conventions. The Young Expert will perform the following tasks:
a) Study the Conventions;
b) Study the Protocols to the Conventions;
c) Examine the RA commitments of the Conventions, and the implementation process thereof, provide suggestions;
d) Participate in trainings and workshops related to the Conventions.
Responsibilities
- With support of the Project Leader (e.g. Deputy Minister) and the YES Armenia Programme Manager, develop a detailed work plan with deliverables and outcomes for the project "Enhancing the Implementation of the International Environmental Conventions in Armenia" (hereafter project) implementation
- Review the project deliverables, outcomes, and schedule with senior management of a ministry/ agency and all relevant stakeholders;
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders;
- Execute the project according to the project plan;
- Develop forms, records, and files to document project activities and information collected;
- Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project;
- Write reports on the project for management and other stakeholders;
- Ensure that the project outcomes and deliverables are on time (in line with the work plan) and of a proper quality level;
- Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
RequiredQualifications
- Master's degree in Environment Management, Public Administration, Project Management or other related area;
- At least 2 years of work experience in Environment Management, Public Administration, Project Management or other related area;
- Knowledge of project management basics;
- Ability to write reports, develop work plans and other documentation;
- Critical thinking ability and problem solving mindset;
- Effective communication skills, including ability to work with high level officials and presentation skills both oral and in writing;
- Good time management, prioritizing and organizing skills;
- Good researching and drafting skills;
- Good computer skills including spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail and the Internet;
- Good knowledge of Armenian and English languages.
