USAID "My Armenia" is looking for a Craft Specialist to join its team for short-term consulting assignment to identify potential artisan stakeholders for expansion of the My Armenia artisan initiative training and market access activities into Shirak and Tavush regions as well as into Sisian as a destination.

Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive database of craft producers in Shirak and Tavush regions of Armenia, as well as Sisian (surrounding villages not including the city). The database should include the following two types of craft producers:
a) Artisan masters – a craftsperson within a group or on their own with a great deal of experience in both design and production of the craft, often recognized by the community for their knowledge and excellence;
b) Craft producers/ groups – a group of craftspeople producing a particular type of craft for sale to local, tourist, and/ or export markets (including micro- and small-to-medium enterprises);
- Organize the database by region and type of craft tradition (wood carving, stone carving, textile arts, pottery, or jewelry) and include:
a) Name, address, phone number, producer type (artisan master/ individual craft producer/ craft group) and a short description of the producer's capabilities;
b) 4-5 photos of the product;
c) Email, website, and any social media accounts where applicable;
- Make sure final database layout and categories are approved by the My Armenia Chief of Party prior to data collection/ entry.

Deliverables:
- Artisan database (Microsoft Excel document);
- Photo files organized in folders by region and producer name (USB hard drive).

RequiredQualifications
- University degree in Art, Ethnography or a related sphere;
- Expertise and comprehensive knowledge in history of Armenia's folk craft traditions; experience interpreting these traditions;
- Relative experience in secondary and primary research and database development;
- Proficient verbal and writing skills in English language;
- Basic skills in photography;
- Excellent communication skills and attention to details;
- High sense of responsibility and ability to meet deadlines.
