Description
Epicenter and French section of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) will be conducting an observational study on safety and outcomes of co-administering direct antiviral agents (DAA) for Hepatitis C and Drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) treatment. The incumbent will collaborate in proposal writing, implementation and data analysis of the study in collaboration with the principal investigators, medical coordinator and the medical field team.
Responsibilities
- Write study proposal in collaboration with principal investigators and medical coordinator;
- Work on development of study form for data recording and reporting;
- Insure the correctness of data collected by the medical team;
- Input data in the mission data base or separate system;
- Where relevant, contribute to defining the objectives of operational re-search, update the study protocols and methodology in collaboration with and guidance of principal investigators and medical coordinator;
- Together with MedCo, coordinate execution of the research with partners ensuring compliance with MSF protocols;
- In close collaboration with the medical team, ensure that patients included in the study have received the correct information in a format they can comprehend and have freely given their consent to participate;
- In collaboration with the medical team and where relevant, ensure compliance with MSF laboratory protocols (secure manipulation of samples, shipment of samples etc.);
- Review data collection and undertake analysis as appropriate, reporting on a regular basis to the functional referent about study progress and any relevant information for the mission/ project;
- Write a clear research report documenting the full methods and results and drawing appropriate conclusions supported by the results;
- Where appropriate, participate in writing scientific papers.
RequiredQualifications
- PhD in Medicine or master's degree in Epidemiology or Public Health with extensive training in Statistics and Epidemiology;
- Desirable research experience with MSF or other NGOs, field experience is a plus;
- Knowledge of mission language (English) and Armenian; knowledge of French language will be considered as an advantage;
- Essential computer literacy (Word, Excel and Power Point);
- Essential knowledge of Epi Info, SPSS or analytical package;
- Flexibility;
