Description
The International Committee of the Red Cross Delegation in Armenia is announcing vacant position of Driver, based in Yerevan
Medical check-up will be required for the chosen candidate.
Responsibilities
-Drives different types of vehicles (light & heavy) in strict adherence to internal security rules and traffic laws of the Republic of Armenia: drives efficiently to minimize fuel consumption and use of material
-Constantly monitors security conditions on the road
-Ensures that goods are stored inside the vehicle according to local, international and organization safety standards, helps in (un-)loading of vehicles
-Checks their assigned per trip vehicles' equipment, general functioning and body conditions and ensures that it is kept fuelled and clean inside and out
-Checks that trips have been authorized where necessary
-Immediately reports accidents, defects and/or missing equipment to management
-Can act as a head of convoy as needed
-Performs small purchases upon request
-Performs various office work related to the logistic activities according to given procedures (filing of logistics' documents, interact with suppliers…)
-Works under close supervision of line manager
-Assists the Workshop Supervisor to carry on tasks related to the maintenance of fleet & generators upon request
RequiredQualifications
-Secondary school diploma
-BC categories or upper DE driving license held for at least five years
-Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar field of activity
-Good knowledge of spoken and written English, Russian and Armenian
-Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment
-Capacity to adhere to ICRC procedures
-Masters 4/4 use, experience in truck driving is an asset
-Automobile maintenance experience, basic knowledge of mechanics (experience as a mechanic is an asset)
