Description
Under the supervision of the Director of Programming and Training (DPT), the TEFL Technical Specialist (TTS) will work in close coordination with the TEFL Project Manager to assure Peace Corps Armenia (PC/ Armenia) implements a continuum of learning and support from Pre-Departure, through Pre-service Training (PST) into the Volunteers' Service. The TTS will work closely with PC/ Armenia staff, Project Advisory Committees (PACs), TEFL Experts from PC/ Washington, and other staff to ensure PC/ Armenia meets the needs and requirements to run a quality education project and TEFL certification for Volunteers.

- MA in TEFL, Linguistics or a related degree;
- 5 years of professional work experience in TEFL training or instruction; 2 years of working with U.S. Americans;
- Level 4 language proficiency in both English and Armenian languages, according to the Interagency Language Roundtable (http://www.govtilr.org/ );
- Person well-versed in the Armenian education system including teacher pre-service training (i.e. university instruction), in-service teacher training and actual classroom instruction;
- Knowledge of local cultural practices;
- Knowledge of U.S. cultural attitudes and attributes;
- Attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure is essential;
- Ability to pass a security background check conducted by the United States Embassy;
- Ability to travel within Armenia periodically throughout the year, including some overnight travel;
- Highly skilled person in time management;
- Courteous and attentive person with the ability to give and receive both positive and constructive feedback;
- Demonstrated flexibility, patience and tolerance;
- Collaborative person who works well in teams;
- Person comfortable communicating by e-mail and phone in English language;
- Competency in using the Internet, basic word processing software, Microsoft Office products, IT systems and general office equipment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7 years or more of program management; 3 years of working with U.S. Americans;
- Level 5 language proficiency in both English and Armenian languages, according to the Interagency Language Roundtable (http://www.govtilr.org/ );
- Familiarity with online education courses and comfort providing feedback to online learners;
- Job knowledge: refer to job description;
- Knowledge and extensive experience in working with Armenian education system in districts across the country.
