Description
Lydian Armenia is seeking applications from experienced persons with an engineering or industrial background. The Mechanical General Foreman is responsible for the day-to-day management of a mechanical maintenance workforce of approx. 50 personnel, plus additional contractors. The Mechanical General Foreman reports to the Chief Mechanical Engineer and works closely with Operational and Electrical personnel. A key focus will be effective management of the shutdown plans and weekly plans.

Responsibilities
Duties in the Preoperational and Ramp-up Phase:
- Recruit direct reports and balance the workforce;
- Assist with preparation of maintenance general procedures, e.g. tools;
- Assist with preparation of key support contracts.

Duties in the Operational Phase:
- Safety: lead the Mechanical Department in safety awareness and performance;
- Management of employees: responsible for overseeing all aspects of employee management including training, discipline, contractors, communication, etc.;
- Job preparation: ensure shutdown jobs and weekly planned jobs are properly prepared with regard to procedures, tools, and support services;
- Weekly work plan: ensure high compliance to the weekly work plan;
- Continuous improvement: support subordinates in the continuous improvement of maintenance activities, e.g. eliminate causes of downtime, improve work procedures, and implement modifications to improve maintenance safety and efficiency;
- Budget: assist Chief Mechanical Engineer is preparation and control of maintenance budget.

RequiredQualifications
- Committed attitude to safety management and a willingness to learn and adapt to new ways of doing things;
- Experience at supervisor level in the mining industry or in other related fields such as cement;
- Professional or vocational education;
- Minimum seven years of experience in mechanical maintenance in heavy industry, of which at least 3 years in a supervisory role;
- Experience of jaw and cone crusher maintenance;
- Reasonable computer skills; previous experience of maintenance software would be useful;
- Fluency in Armenian and Russian languages; basic knowledge of English language; willingness to learn;
- Valid driving licence.
