Description
The successful candidate will be assigned to a specific planning role, for example, shutdown planning, weekly planning, and spares management, but he/ she will be trained in all roles. The Maintenance Planner is a technical role and has no direct reports. The successful candidates will receive general training about the design and operation of the Process Plant and specific training in maintenance planning software (FIIX).

Responsibilities
Duties in the Preoperational Phase:
- Be engaged in spares sourcing, job procedure writing, and inputs into the computerized maintenance planning system (FIIX).

Duties in the Operational Phase:
- Be engaged in a number of key activities:
a) Safety: incorporate correct and appropriate safety instructions into job procedures;
b) Spares: ensure correct parts are in stock, rationalize parts inventory, prepare APL's and BOM's;
c) Planning/ scheduling: prepare weekly plan and schedule activities for all work crews;
d) Shutdown planning: prepare shutdown work list, prepare shutdown reports;
e) Continuous improvement: improve job procedures, improve CMMS (FIIX);
f) Reporting: assist with the monthly report, report maintenance KPI's, especially downtime.

RequiredQualifications
- Experience as a Planner or Engineer in heavy industries such as mining, chemical, cement, metals, and power generation, or in other industries such as water, food and beverage;
- Aptitude and technical proficiency;
- Committed attitude to safety and a good standard of computer literacy;
- Degree or diploma in Engineering or Electrical Engineering;
- Experience in planning, supply chain, spare parts or related activities;
- Driving licence;
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office is desired; experience in other software such as AutoCAD is desired;
- Exposure to maintenance planning software is desired;
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and P&ID's is desired.
