Description
Sevani Ishkhan CJSC is looking for a specialist with corresponding knowledge and work experience for the position of Fish Processing Technologist.
Responsibilities
Organizing Existing Procedures:
- Plan and organize production using existing procedures: cold smoked, hot smoked and marinated fish products;
- Study the physical, chemical and biological properties of food and use this knowledge to develop or improve the materials, processes and technologies that go into making fish products;
- Monitor the use of ingredients;
- Test and examine samples.
Developing New Products:
- Modify and improve existing fish product recipes;
- Generate new fish product ideas and recipes;
- Devise and source ingredients for products, and find the best ways of combining, processing, storing and preserving them to maintain taste and nutritional value.
Technical Support:
- Design processes and machinery for the production of recipes on a large scale;
- Provide general technical service support;
- Identify and fix the malfunctions of newly installed equipment (if any).
Cooperation with Other Departments:
- Liaise with sales and marketing staff;
- Identify and choose products from suppliers.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that strict hygiene food safety standards are met;
- Assist the Quality and Food Safety Department to develop food standards, safety and sanitary regulations, and waste management and water supply specifications.
Reports:
- Help to deliver high quality presentations and written reports to demonstrate and communicate results to stakeholders;
- Keep appropriate records to support internal and external audits.
Additional:
- Carry out any other additional tasks as may be reasonably requested by the Director of the Company.
RequiredQualifications
- BS degree in Food Science/ Food Engineering or equivalent technical field with relevant work experience in fish production industry;
- Strong understanding of Food Science with proven ability to apply Food Science/ Food Engineering principles to solve problems;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Good team working abilities;
- Confidence;
- Ability to work independently;
- Meticulous attention to detail, especially to food hygiene and safety;
- Strong analytical and numerical skills;
- Fluency in Armenian, Russian and English languages;
- HACCP (hazard analysis and critical control points), meat and nutritional labeling requirements experience is a plus.
