Responsibilities

• Read content and correct for errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar
  
• Rewrite copy to make it easier for readers to understand
  
• Verify facts using standard reference sources
  
• Work with staff to help them express their ideas and stories
  
• Plan the content and publications of digital media according to the publication's style and editorial policy
  
• Develop story and content ideas while being mindful of the audience
  
• Approve / review final versions submitted by staff
  
• Implement quality translations into Armenian, English and Russian.

EDUCATION

• Preferably bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, or linguistics. The mass- or cross-media experience is a plus.
• Those with other backgrounds who can show strong writing skills also may apply for this position.

IMPORTANT QUALITIES

Listening ability. Editor should be able to listen, perceive the oral speech, take notes, rephrase and reword the ideas to make them sound right.

 Creativity. Editor must be creative, curious, and knowledgeable in a broad range of topics. Editor must regularly come up with interesting story ideas and attention-grabbing headlines.

Detail-oriented. One of editor's main tasks is to make sure that the material is error-free and matches the style of a publication.

Good judgment. Editor must decide if certain stories are ethical or if there is enough evidence to report them.

Interpersonal skills. In working with colleagues, editor must be team worker and have the ability to guide and encourage them in their work.

Language skills. Editor must ensure that all written content has correct grammar, punctuation, and syntax. As a result, strong language skills are essential for an editor.

The Excellence knowledge of English, Russian and Armenian is mandatory․

Writing skills. Editor should enjoy writing and must be excellent writer overall. Editor must have good knowledge of grammar and punctuation rules and be able to express ideas clearly and logically.
