Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong leadership in the management of safety in the Operations Department with the support of the Safety Department
- Ensure all relevant company and departmental policies and procedures are understood and followed by workforce and ensure disciplinary policy is applied fairly and consistently
- Manage the development and implementation of the Annual Training Plan
- Meet or exceed monthly production budget
- Work closely with maintenance department – ensure timely defect reporting and ensure good preparation for shutdowns
- Prepare annual budget and ensure expenditure is controlled to limits
- Develop and implement strategy for winter operation
RequiredQualifications
- At least 15 years of experience in a gold or base metals operation in Armenia or other countries, of which at least 5 should be in a management or supervisory role
- Experience of severe winter conditions will be viewed as an advantage
- Higher education in Mining or Metallurgy, and preferably some formal management training
- Fluency in Armenian and Russian languages; competency in the English Language is very desirable
- Significant experience in the following areas: a) Crushing and conveying b) Process Control/ DCS c) Contractor Management
- Proven track record of managing and developing a large workforce in a mining or related industry
