Description
DevOps System Administrator is supposed to maintain, upgrade and manage software and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. The incumbent should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. He/ she should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. The goal will be to ensure that the Company's technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently. He/ she should apply solutions that are both efficient in terms of money and ease of use and provide support to development teams with optimal solutions and infrastructure design.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure software on cloud and on dedicated servers;
- Manage network servers and technology tools;
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements;
- Troubleshoot issues and outages;
- Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls;
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models;
- Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns;
- Write automation scripts, automate deployments on prod environment and development.
RequiredQualifications
- BS/ BA in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification is a plus;
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or a similar role;
- Experience with databases, networks and patch management;
- Knowledge of system security and data backup/ recovery;
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms;
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
